Music Video Ideas Pitch

My music video is a mixture of performance based sequences and a narrative. The video begins with an establishing shot which sets the scene for the narrative. The first thirty seconds of the video explain to the audience that the protagonist is running across a number of locations in the city to reach his girlfriend in order to meet her in time for their date. The band performance is tied into the narrative, as the characters are on their way to see the band perform live at a gig.

Scenes will alternate between the narrative and the band performing. Narrative scenes will be in chronological order. However, in a way I have involved a reverse narrative structure, as the protagonist is on his way to the performance, of which is already being shown throughout the video, even though the event doesn’t actually take place until the end of the video. The way in which the narrative is laid out provides a sense of tension and build-up to a certain point in the video where it reaches a climax or resolution.

The location of the band performance will be in the school hall on stage, with close-up shots on each individual band member as well as their instruments. A number of colour filters will be used in the editing process to reflect on the style of music of the video.
